Many of us have African roots within us, but few of us take the time to explore them in depth. During my studies in African Studies, it became increasingly clear to me how important it is to shed light on the African continent, its diverse ways of life and its turbulent history.
Africa is so much more than we are often told by the Western world and traditional media. That is why it is particularly important to me that our children have the opportunity to find themselves in stories that also feature other children from Africa. They should learn and understand how rich and diverse this continent is. That should be a matter of course.
Let us work together to ensure that the stories of Africa are heard and that our children grow up in a world where diversity and understanding of other cultures are the norm.
With love, Kardi ✨❣️
